McDonald's faced the challenge of effectively leveraging dynamic digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising to drive foot traffic to McCafé locations by delivering timely and relevant messages that resonate with consumers' immediate environment and needs.
OMD developed a targeted DOOH strategy to promote McDonald's new Donuts and Coffee breakfast offering. By focusing on screens near McCafé locations and scheduling ads during morning hours, the campaign reached potential customers when they were most likely to consider breakfast options. Taggify's programmatic capabilities allowed the ads to dynamically adjust based on local weather conditions, such as temperature and precipitation, ensuring the message was timely and contextually relevant.
From Taggify DSP DOOH, we selected all screens near a McCafé store and activated ads during morning hours to suggest trying the new Donuts and Coffee for breakfast. Additionally, Herolens by Innovid created the rules to change the creative based on different external parameters:
-
Temperatures below 10 Degrees.
-
Weekdays between 7am and 11am.
-
Weekend mornings.
-
Rainy days
The campaign successfully highlighted McDonald's innovative approach to promoting its McCafé offerings, engaging potential customers with contextually relevant ads that responded to local weather conditions.
